“Rock the Spectrum” at Branson Landing
The 3rd annual Rock the Spectrum event presented by Branson’s Nantucket will be held on Friday September 5, 2014 at The Branson Landing. All monies raised will go to directly help families affected by autism in Branson, Missouri and surrounding areas. This event is FREE and open to the public.
This event is founded by Brent & Cristal Hedrick in honor of their goddaughter Shaylee O’Day. “Rock the Spectrum” will raise money for Jenny McCarthy’s foundation Generation Rescue. Generation Rescue mentors families, provides medical assistance to underserved children and generates national awareness and resources for autism. Since inception, Generation Rescue has been the leader in providing not only pathways to recovery but results in recovery.
A child is diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum every 15 minutes. On May 20, 2013, the CDC announced a 72 percent increase in the diagnosis of autism over the past four years. This already staggering rate is rapidly growing. Many insurance providers will not cover expenses of children on the spectrum. Powder Mill is proud to perform and be a part of such a worthwhile, notable event.
